We want you to know exactly how we make money, so you can decide how much weight to give the links you see in the app and on whatsitworthguide.com. 1. The short version
Some links in What’s It Worth are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, sell, or bid, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That commission never changes the value estimate we show you.
2. Which links may earn us money
- “Sell it” buttons and one-tap listing. When you tap “List on eBay” or “List on Mercari,” we hand your item details to that marketplace. We may earn a referral fee or commission if you create an account, list, or sell.
- Comparable sales (“comps”). Links to recent sold listings on eBay may be tracked through the eBay Partner Network. If you click through and later buy something, we may be paid.
- Auction houses. Links to partners such as LiveAuctioneers may earn a commission when you register, bid, or consign.
- Guides and blog posts. Links to tools, supplies, or services in our articles may be affiliate links.
Current affiliate programs include the eBay Partner Network, Mercari, and LiveAuctioneers. We may add or remove programs over time and will update this page when we do.
3. Advertising
Free-plan users see third-party display ads (for example, from Google AdSense or Google Ad Manager). Ads are labeled and are chosen by the ad network, not by us. Pro and Dealer subscribers do not see ads. See our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy for how ad partners use data.
4. Our editorial and valuation independence
- Value ranges are calculated from public sold-listing data. Affiliate relationships do not raise, lower, or reorder estimates.
- We do not rank marketplaces by commission rate. Where we suggest a place to sell, the suggestion is based on the item category and where similar items have actually sold.
- No partner pays for a favorable mention, and partners do not review our content before publication.
